Project Role: Senior UX Designer
I worked along with 2 designers who worked on separate modules and breakpoints. We were reporting to a lead designer from the company and had continuous feedback with the clients. I worked hands-on with the project and helped from the start of the project, running an in-office design workshop, where we talked about the business, target user, and business goals. The outcome of the Discovery was an in-depth PRD, an information architecture, and user journeys. Post-discovery I worked on creating a design system and created responsive wireframes for the D-2-C platform and I am Currently working on a mobile application for the same.
Design Challenges
Designing for SEO:

Although Booksters had a varied list of USPs, even then designing a product that would eventually compete with retail giants like amazon and Flipkart in the Indian market was going to be tough.
some of the major design challenges were:
The brand needed to compete in search with Amazon, Flipkart, and other giants. we had to design a system and structure that took care of SEO in all ways possible.
Customizability:

Since Booksters prints book in-house and get the manuscripts directly from authors and publisher, they have the feasibility to make changes and or add customized notes and personalize the book. The design challenge was to create a system that would make it easy for the user to customize the books while making it easy from a development point of view and loading time.
Distributor centric:

The system we were designing was going to cater to a varied user cohort, from individual buyers to retail shops, distributors, publishers, and Authors. We had to design a system that would cater to the need of every user group.
Design Research

I conducted user interviews with the publisher, distributors, and admin to understand the need and pain points while using seller aggregator like amazon and Flipkart. following are some some of the insights we got:

-
None of the platform give them the flexibility to create their own campaigns.
-
For publishers and distributors, bulk buying is a problem. Most of the platform caters to individual buyers expereince and keep the distributors lost of find the best deals on their own.
-
The publishers and author don’t get transparent analytics on which title is selling most from which of the channels, and they needed a single channel to organize their sales.

Define

Post discovery, I worked on the personas, based on the persona groups we had defined with the stakeholders. We worked on proto personas to empathize with the user and design a product that was user centered.

Once the personas were finalized we moved to work on the information architecture, and user flow.
